Rachel Macko | MSW, LCSW
Rachel Macko is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has worked in a variety of settings, including hospitals, college counseling, dual diagnosis rehabilitation centers, public health educations and private practice. She possesses a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Delaware and earned a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Michigan with an emphasis in Interpersonal Practice and Mental Health.
As an IOP Therapist, Rachel honors and highlights each person’s strengths, experiences and overall perspective, while encouraging feedback amongst group members. “The group process is extremely powerful and effective in promoting change and growth. It is a very different experience than individual psychotherapy and we use the group as a tool to heal from the inside out.” She is genuinely invested in the clients’ well-being, and has developed a down-to-earth, yet effective and attentive therapeutic style over the years. Rachel completed Levels I & II of EMDR training and is also trained in Image Transformation Therapy. These two treatment modalities have influenced her to emphasize more of a mind-body approach to healing.
